Via L'Anse

Via the loop is composed of a mixed response team specializing on domestic and family violence. The team enjoys the support of a coordinator and regular clinical supervision. Ongoing training, updating practices and research are at the heart of the concerns of the team. The approach used in Via loop based on the identification of multiple causes to the problem, as well as analysis of various dimensions: social and cultural (unequal social roles, conservative gender socialization, cultural discourse legitimizing violence), family and interactional (intergenerational transmission, high level of tolerance for abuse, addiction, conflict, communication), personal (thoughts, emotions, strategies, psychological factors) and temporal (cycle and repetition, context, stage of change). Similarly, our actions reflect a variety of means to influence these factors through the various dimensions observed and taking into account the unique experience of each individual.
