JKS Martial Arts

JKS is the #1 martial arts school on the West Island. We have been leading the way in Self Defense, Kick Boxing, Boxing, MMA, Brazilian Jujitsu for 24 yrs. JKS was developed in 1987, Its founder James Monette had been training since 1968. His background by that time was extensive. He started with boxing and trained in several styles or karate earning his black belt 3 dan in Shorinjiryu Kenukai as well as 5th dan in Shorinji ryu Kente, competed in kickboxing, thai boxing, savate, full contact karate, judo, wrestling and jiu-jitsu. He also was in the armed forces and was a doorman and learned first hand in hundreds of combat situations that just one martial art alone was not enough to defend yourself. Teaching martial arts part time since 1982 James Monette decided to start a full time school in 1990. The school has grown into the largest and most respected martial arts school on the west island teaching by far one of the most effective self-defense martial arts in the world.
