The Grove

English cuisine rewrites its reputation once more at this Dundas West charmer, where the traditional British pub bar-snack concept is extended to include such unlikely English offerings as eel sandwiches, short ribs with oysters and sea asparagus. Still, guests bypass chef Ben Heaton's fresh take on the limey staple that is fish and chips at their peril. The Little Portugal space inside which all of this magic takes place is casual and welcoming, a former dentist's office now set off with a handsome harvest table, mismatched chairs, exposed brick patches and a slew of vintage-y knick knacks. The waitstaff know their stuff here, and are happy to be grilled.
