Mistura Restaurant

265 Davenport Rd, Toronto, ON M5R 1J9

From the moment you slip into one of the two private dining rooms at this quietly sophisticated Yorkville restaurant until the moment you step back into reality, you are the subject of rare attention to detail. The atmosphere, complete with dancing candlelight, expansive white tablecloths and elegant wall mirrors, is splendid. And the food here is universally praised for its smart presentation and varied considerations of flavours and textures. Generous servings of contemporary Italian cuisine, like carpaccio di manzo and pasta with sweet sausage, get rave reviews. So, too, does the top-notch service that is always attentive and never overbearing. Co-owned by Paolo Paolini and Chef Massimo Capra, Mistura is a dining experience to remember.

Liked it!

The food is very close to authentic and I love the fact that everything we ordered came out, well, in order. No one received their food late and we were very well attended to. Artichokes were fried perfectly and their lamb lollipops were succulent with the minted yogurt sauce. This is probably one of the only places in Toronto where you can sample cinghiale (wild boar) agnolotti. We had a very satisfyingly cooked branzino and rabbit for our mains and finished our meal with excellent affogato. The menu definitely lives up to the famous chef and I will be back again.
Two times unlucky!

I have had the unfortunate experience of going to Mistura 2x. Both times the food was too salty and not well prepared. The pancetta on the cornish hen was almost raw (overwhealming fattyness) and the pineapple dessert was inedible. Additionally, both times resulted in stomach upset - not a good track record if you ask me.
