Jonah Schein was elected October 6, 2011 to represent the west-Toronto riding of Davenport in the Provincial Parliament.Jonah was born and raised in Toronto and has devoted his life to public service. Jonah earned a Masters degree from York University and he has worked for many years in the Davenport community and across Toronto as a teacher, social worker, and community organizer, helping thousands of people from across the city access food, shelter, supports, and education.Before he was elected, Jonah worked at The Stop Community Food Centre where he coordinated their civic engagement programs and was widely recognized for his innovative approach to community building and advocacy.Since being elected Jonah has been a strong advocate at Queen's Park for public transit and cycling, renewable energy, sustainable food, precarious workers, strengthened tenant protection, and social assistance reform.
