Lola's Lounge - Reviews (16)

Didn't care for it.

The service was OK. The food is WAY over priced.. and we waited for over an hour for our dinner. We had a full table and the place was full, but you should never have to wait that long for your food, period.
Great Experience!

Small restaurant downtown Sarnia. Party atmosphere with colorful lighting & artwork. Excellent food and apps, Sleeman beer, great waitstaff. Highly reccomend. I am going back!
Great Experience!

Festive, small, fun, cool lighting & artwork, terrific food, small bar, reservations a must (at least on the weekend). The eating area size is about 20x80, very fun. Love the sweat potato ffries & dipping sauce for appetizers. I have not been disapointed with an entre yet. Super busy restaurant, reminds me of a restaurant from NY City neighborhood. 5 stars. Going back this weekend again!

Meh. It was ok. $55 for lunch is too much. Food was good. Service was good. Atmosphere is great. Certainly an interesting experience. Just can't get past the prices I guess.

I can't believe this restaurant isn't number one in the list. I've eaten in pretty much all the other listed restaurants here, and they all, without exception, serve food that can be classified as mediocre at best. Waggs? Give me a break. Paddy Flaherty's rip-off joint? Jesus wept. Lola's is the ONLY place to eat in Sarnia if you want something a little different but great value for money. Fantastic atmosphere, great service, awesome food, and the lady behind the bar mixes a delectable dirty martini.

I love this restaurant! I have tried most restaurants around Sarnia and Lola's is by far one of the best!! The service was great - friendly, efficient, attentive...and the food was even better! I had the Thai hot pot and it was terrific - and the serving sizes were more than enough. I definitely recommend Lola's for anyone looking for something a little different!

Good food, good service. The place looks quite different compared to the typical fine dining restaurant, but the atmosphere is nice. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure that we liked our food, checking if we had enough water, etc. The appetizers we had were large and tasted good. The food was plated very nicely. The beef entree was cooked medium rare, just the way we like it. The salmon was cooked well-done, which we found a little too cooked, but it was nonetheless tasty and juicy. It was easy to tell that the fish was fresh. The dessert selection was quite small when we went, though we were told this was not usually the case. We had key lime pie and a warm chocolate brownie. No frozen desserts there. The portions were generous, and the taste was good. The whip cream was not one of those store bought kinds, which was a plus. However, their chocolate syrup tasted suspiciously similar to Nestle Quick. All in all, a nice place to go either for food or for a drink (well priced martinis). The staff is friendly and competent, and the food will satisfy developed taste buds.

The best restaurant in Sarnia! Great food, great atmosphere - wonderful service with it's own unique style - wish there was more like it in Sarnia, Ontario for diversity only! Recommend to anyone that enjoys the whole experience of dining, not just trying for quick dinner!
Just Another Wonderful Meal

Been there many times; love the place, the food, the atmosphere (albeit a bit dark). Prices are quite reasonable, especially for lunch. I like the unique variations in the menu. I've tried to go there a bit more often than normal recently, since the street is torn up and it's likely denting their sales a bit; downtown merchants need support.
not great service

i have been to lola's many times... my experience is usually good/to great. We had a party of12 for a 40 b-day and our service was beyond bad...our server was rude and "if people would listen to her she WOULD tell the specials"no one needs that type of treatment when they are having fun and spending at least 60 per person..$650 ish this visit..the automatic gratutity was what put me over the top....although the bills were seperate and we are all adults who know the value of a good are based on service...good service..the b-day girl knows the owner and is intending on writing a letter. we did visit in march /08..I know a fee other people in the party called to complain but no answer was ever heard back....

Have been to Lola's many time before. It's my wife's favorite place in Sarnia, and I like it too. I love their Kung Po Chicken - man is it spicy! The caesar salad I had for an app was too strong - the dressing was very garlicky and I couldn't finish it all. My wife's pizza was good, if a bit salty. The house white was good too. The service at Lola's can vary, because they get very busy, but it was good this time. The men's washroom reminds me of something in Florence or Rome - no hot water, extremely cramped, and kinda half-a$$ed. Oh well, it's part of the experience.

One of the better restaurants in Sarnia. I have eaten here on several occasions and the food is always excellent. There has been a few occasions that the service was a bit lacking, but food is worth it. Definately would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for more of a "fine dining" experience.

The waitress was very interactive and had an interesting sense of humor. The lamp at the bar was a bit freaky. I really loved the cozy atmosphere, although a bit dark. The men's washroom had an unusable urnal. It was unique! The food was fast and hot and fresh. Would return any day of the week. Such a special place of refuge!

the food at lola's is usually very good. good atmosphere and interesting decor. waitress was rather non-verbal. pointed out plates with big chips and the answer was a slight smile. maybe a "sorry" would have brought the service ranking up.
