When Oshawa Jewellery Inc. first opened its doors in 1983, Rachel Berdugo’s dream was coming true. Although space was limited, after years of selling jewellery out of suitcases at the flea market, she finally had her first permanent location in downtown Oshawa. “I’ve always wanted to work with diamonds,” says Rachel with a passionate smile. From day one Rachel felt that everyone should be able to wear beautiful jewellery. Her determination to bring affordable, quality jewellery to her customers made her small store a hit. In no time she needed a bigger location. In 1992 Oshawa Jewellery moved to the Oshawa Centre. While the size of the store has changed, the mandate remains the same; to provide Oshawa and surrounding areas with the best jewellery shopping experience possible. And Rachel still sees to it personally.
