UltraViolet (UV) radiation is a proven human carcinogen. This is the same category as cigarettes, arsenic and asbestos. According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, over the past 40 years, melanoma rates have increased by 800 percent among women ages 18 to 40. Researchers believe that this drastic increase is linked to prevalent tanning bed use.
