In 1974 Gene Grossmann started selling quality Canadian manufactured boots out of the basement of his house to service the forest and fishing industry. With low overhead... and ceilings, he sold top brands for far less than the retail and department stores. Customers kept coming back with their friends and soon he needed to get a warehouse. He brought on brands such as Helly Hansen and Carhartt and quickly gained a reputation as the place to go for quality low priced work wear.
