Walrus & The Carpenter

It's hard to believe that this ''Best Gift House on the Prairie'' had its humble beginnings 25 years ago! We actually started out as a group of seven farm women, who for the most part had gotten to know each other through Craft Sales that had been held for several years in my farm home out in the country. Those very successful sales prompted us into renting a permanent spot in Ponoka's Mini Mall, but it wasn't long before a lot with a very old decrepit looking house caught our eye not far from the Mall. That old greying house had seen many years of use being home to the Dave Jones family, and also the Dickau family. Built around the turn of the century, the old house, with lots of help and elbow grease from our husbands was restored to usefulness and once again looked loved.
