Recently I was in the market for a used boat and knew that I was going to need some good professional advice, probably on pretty short notice. Asking ‘around’, Dave’s name at All Marine came up more than once. So the big day arrived: thinking that I had finally found “the boat” I made an appointment with All Marine. I was apprehensive but Dave’s manner and attitude soon made me feel that I was in the right place. He took the time to tell me what he was going to do and why. I was satisfied that the extent of his inspection and the depth of his knowledge was going to provide me with the information I need to know without costing me an arm and a … As it was, his inspection was thorough enough that we decided that the condition of the engine precluded this one from being “the boat”. And, a small but important point: Dave’s professionalism and drive to do the job ‘right’ caused him to spend considerable more time than he had estimated. Nevertheless, his bill wasn’t any more, he stuck by his estimate. What I came away with, more important than avoiding a mistake that could have cost me money, was that I honestly believe that when I do find ‘the boat’, I will have a repair facility that I can trust.
