Gallery Arcturus

Gallery Arcturus is a not-for-profit contemporary art exhibition and art education centre located in downtown Toronto. It is funded and operated by The Foundation for the Study of Objective Art, a private charity. Admission is free. The Genesis Gallery comprises the first two rooms on the main floor just inside the entrance. The works here are often created on site by artists who agree to participate in an inquiry proposed by the curator, deborah harris. Continuing from here is the Up North Gallery featuring landscape painting and Inuit sculpture. This space leads the visitor up the stairs which has been named the Ascending Gallery where works from the permanent collection are displayed throughout the stairwell as far as the fourth floor landing. On the second floor viewers will find the Collage Gallery and the Library, The third floor now includes the Drawing Room, the Dark Room and the new Photography Gallery. On the lower level, also accessed by stairs, is the studio.
