Hot Nails

Where in town can you get your nails and waxing done at an affordable rate? No where. Sure there are times you have to wait, but it's because this place is always busy. I've moved out of town and always make a point to come here when I am visiting with friends. Miss it! A hidden gem like this is hard to find. The women that work here are quick and thorough. AND funny. Fun, lighthearted chatting. New massage chairs (since I was in last) are awesome. Favourite place to go in the creek!

I went to Hot Nails on a Thursday evening. There were three of us and we called ahead to get manis/pedis at 7. We got there at 6:45. At around 7 my two friends went to start their pedicures. I didn't want one. It wasn't until 8 that someone asked me to sit at a manicure table. It wasn't until 8:30 that someone rudely asked me "Did you want a manicure?" Why would I be sitting at the table for 30 minutes if I didn't want a manicure. By the time someone started working on my nails, my friends were done their pedicures AND their manicures. It gets worse. - I was lectured about not mentioning that I had shellac on my nails that had to be removed. I might have told someone if anyone had spoken to me for the first hour and a half I was there. - the girl who removed my shellac smeared nail polish all over my hands because she didn't bother to wash them first. - As soon as the girl wrapped my nails, she got up and left. Like, left the building. -someone else finally came along and finished the shellac removal. It was right after she had finished taking out the garbage. No, she did not wash her hands. At that point, my friends were pretty much waiting around. I told the technician that I would pay for my removal and that was it. An absolutely terrible experience. I get my nails done about 2x a month and have never been treated so poorly.
