Ellington Montessori School

Deborah L. Renwick founded Ellington Montessori School in July 1990. The school began as a corporation and continues as such to date. Ms. Renwick opened the school with the intent of operating a Primary program (3 to 6 year olds), accommodating 20 students. By the end of the first year enrolment was up to 32 children and expansion was on the horizon. By the fall of 1992, the first elementary class was opened and the school eventually expanded, over several years, to include classes up to the 8th grade. Ellington Montessori School maintained a middle school program for four years.Currently, the school has three classrooms: a Casa class (3 to 6 year olds), a lower elementary (6 to 9 year olds) and an upper elementary (9 to 12 year olds).
