And I've tried them all!

The Sushi itself was good but nothing to write home about if taking the price into consideration. The ambiance and decor is what makes the experience more enjoyable.

I've been to various sushi restaurants in Ontario and can say this was amongst the least favourite of mine. I was excited to go to Wasabi Japanese Restaurant because it looked like an upscale place from the outside (there was a wall waterfall and the coloured lighting made it look elegant). To my disappointment, it did not live up to its classy look. When our food arrived the presentation was absolutely stunning, however the taste was inexistent - how could something so beautiful taste like nothing? My friend and I ordered $65 worth of sushi. The only thing I enjoyed was my Cola which was served in an over-sized glass cup. I will never go back again and urge others to find a better tasting sushi place in Ottawa.

Immitation Japanese food? I think so. Horrible place. This restaurant should not be operating. The waitress forgot our order so the food came to us 45 minutes later, cold! Not to mention that it's over-priced. We ordered softshell crab and the waitress asked "Tonkatsu style or temputer style" WHAT IS THAT? can't they just deep fry it the proper way? It tasted like deep fried ROCKS, none the less. The only thing that was actually decent were the drinks. I do not recommend this restaurants for first timers-you will get the wrong impression of Japanese food!

Server was prompt. Restaurant clean and great atmosphere, warm and not too loud. Sushi was fresh and tasty. Would go again.

I have been to this restaurant countless times...enough so, that the owners know us by name. This is a great restaurant. The decor is simple, yet elegant, Intimate, warm and a very friendly environment. Although you should make reservations for larger groups, it is easy to walk-in. Considering this restaurant is in the middle of the continent the food is always fresh because of the high turn over. Have a suggestion for your own dish, just tell your server...they will be more than happy to accomadate if they have the ingrediants. Many other restaurants of the sort in Ottawa WILL NOT accomadate special orders like this restaurant will. Excellent Alfred & Staff!!! See you again real soon.

Sushi is one of my favourite meals, but the sushi at Wasabi was hardly more appetizing than slugs. Besides the appalling taste and seemingly not fresh fish, the rolls were sloppy and falling apart before they arrived at our table. The service was friendly, but we were ignored most of the night. The only redeeming quality was the great atmosphere. However, it won't be enough to make us go there again.

Fantastic food? Fantastic service... Did I mention the food was amazing!!! It is my favourite restaurant. FYI... not all sushi has raw fish!!!

While service is warm, the food is okay. I taste better at other Japanese restaurants in Ottawa. The food has way too much MSG. We felt soooo thirsty when we went home and had to keep drinking cold water.

Food is okay. Service is good. Location is good. However, I think the chef put too much MSG in the food. When I went home, I felt so thirsty and showed the symptom I always have after eating at Chinese restaurant. I would recommend the owner to pay attention to such details. I personally don't like too much MSG in the food I eat. This is one of the reasons I won't go back.

I liked the atmosphere. I like the service. But the sushi could be compared to something served at a Chinese buffet. Likely not going there again.
