Kaban' is an ancient Mayan word that means 'earth.' Kaban is where children, the seeds, find the perfect place to grow; an environment that allows them to absorb whatever they need to satisfy this challenge. The earth has the force and power of a mixture, or soil of finely ground-up rocks and minerals that allows life to grow. The mixture of soil at Kaban is composed of the environment and the directress. Once planted in this rich soil, the child has all the potential within himself – the power of life – to unfold and develop into an integral human being.
