Lakeside Bistro

The food at this restaurant is actually the best that ive had ever. But the service was the worst ever. The waitress's were great, but the waiter was the rudest,most ignorant person that I've ever met. I cant believe that he is working with the public.I do believe he is family. If this restaurant goes out of business it will be purely on the fact that someone that acts like that should not be working with the public. I will not ever be back unless I hear that HE has been fired!

We had a great time at the Bistro when we went and saw Chad Slade play.....we danced all night and had a great time. The food and drinks were awesome. We have been there since and will be back again. Great Place!

One of the best restaurants I have been too in years. I took my daughter there when Chad Slade was playing a few weeks back. We had an amazing time... The music was awesome and food even better. Our waiter was very polite and on top of things, I didn't have to worry about pouring my own wine, or asking for water, he was there at the right times. I was speaking to a couple that sat beside us and they have been going to the restaurant for many years and come in at least once sometimes twice a week for dinner, they love it, the atmosphere, food & the great service. Everyone is well dressed and pleasent. I especially appreciate that the food was extreamly fresh and you could tell never frozen. Oh and the Tartufo to finish off our night was to die for. Thanks Bistro for a great time.... and many more to come!

I went to the Bistro for the first time with my inlaws, I wanted to take them somewhere nice and I heard that the bistro was a good place to go. I was pleased from the time I walked in to the time I left. My inlaws live in the city and said that you can't get service or food like that in the city and at the prices too! We all had something different, I tried the chicken mediterainian and it was amazing, the portion was huge. My husband had the rib steak & shrimps, he said it was done perfectly. The waitress was wonderful, very happy and helpful when we had questions about the menu. The manager came to our table just to make sure everything was going well and to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. This was the first restaurant I have been to that you get what you pay for when you order a glass of wine. Their house red wine was great and for the price I couldn't beleive that they actually filled the glass to the top! Overall our experience was great, nice place to take the inlaws ;) they were very impressed. We have gone back many of times since then and have always been happy!

The food was very enjoyable. I also ordered the "catch of the day" and it was perfect. The staff are great and made us feel right at home. We will be back for sure. My husband had Steak Neptune which was to die for.

I am embarrassed to say that I gave this restaurant three chances, the first visit was during the summer, service was horrible and the food was worse, but it wasn’t busy so I thought, well maybe it was a bad night… The second time, service was prompt but the food was mediocre… Since it’s Keswick and there are not many places to eat and it’s close to home I thought, okay one more chance…well I will never go back… The service sucks, I don’t know what her name was but she was rude and was more interested in talking to the other server than taking our order. I got the catch of the day, which obviously was frozen and not fresh…I asked for my food a certain way and when it came and I tasted it, I sent it back, the fish was horrible and very salty, not to mention the scallops were cold…the fish had an odd taste and just didn’t taste right, when I told her this she looked at me like I was stupid… They took the food away she told me the kitchen said it was fine, I didn’t argue I just sat there and as she looked at me…I said I will be fine, not to worry I will eat when I get home… Sorry forgot to mention the bread they gave us was I think from the month before and I might have chipped a tooth… Well it wasn’t taken off the bill I wasn’t offered any desert and no manager came to apologize… Disgusting… The ambiance is old and dated and I think they need a good old fashioned visit from Gordon Ramsey and the Kitchen Nightmares show… I can’t wait till this place goes out of business and someone else comes in!!!

We went on a Tuesday evening~ it wasn't busy. Service was prompt, friendly and polite Food was very good and well enjoyed~ my husband ordrered the prime-rib, it was the best he's had in a long time and I enjoyed the "Catch of the Day"- all items were cooked to perfection and completed with some very yummy "Boston Cream Puffs" The restaurant was very nice~ I'm sure we'll be back.

When we arrived, no one came to seat us for a good seven minutes, so we were left standing at the front door while the wait staff were serving customers and walking around. When we ordered, my husband is allergic to seafood and his soup which came with his meal had a seafood base, so we just asked if they could substitute it for an onion, tomato or whatever else they had, but our waiter was adament that there was no substitutions. They had several different soups on the menu, so I thought this would be a no brainer - but we even asked if he could ask the chef - but again he was adament and stated no substitutions. All four of us at our table were appauld and "discussed" this situation with the waiter, but he would not budge. Our meals then came after waiting an extended period of time. Overall the food was pretty good, but none of us would ever go back. It's really too bad that for the price of a bowlof soup, they have lost four customers - and I am sure more, aswe have not been shy about our experience. Who else would want to go through that?

Recogninzing that it was a Friday evening I still found it unacceptable to wait 30 minutes to have our drink order taken and a further 30 minutes for the drinks to arrive. Bread was not brought to our table until after our drinks arrived. The manager was not only unfriendly but bordere on rude when taking our our orders as if we were imposing on him. We finally ate almost two hours after arriving and the food was very un-inspiring. Overcooked shrimp (cut into pieces to make them go further) two scallops, two shelless mussles and some very overcooked calamari on top a bowl of soggy pasta made up my dish. A three hour experience best not remembered.

Service was good, for the price I was very unhappy with the chicken breast - very tuff! Likely would not go again.

when i first got there the service was a little bit slow, but as the night progressed and place got a bit busier and the staff quickly kicked it up a notch and the srevice improved tremendously. The food was immmaculate. the presnetation was wonderful and the entertinment was more than enjoyable. Every bite of the rpime rib was like an end cut, cooked to perfrction. to top it all of the friendly staff made the night an enjoyable experince. I would defenatly go there again.

I have been here twice at this location and at the other location. The food is superb, this service is great. The pricing is very good also.

Very busy, New Year's Eve. Everybody was happy with their meal except for myself as my lobster tails were very undercooked, but, I did not return them as service was very slow due to the volume. This was the first time that I was disappointed in my meal and I feel that it was due to the fact that it was so busy and they weren't prepared. Entertainment was great. Waiter was very impatient and at times rude, however, this wasn't the first time that I experienced this with that waiter.

The food is very good but the service very poor. Our entree took over an hour to come after ordering. and when my prime rib did come, it was the end cut. The manager camed to the table upon request, and all he had to say was sorry we are very busy.

Yes I agree the food is very good. However the service we received was very slow. Our waitress did not get our order correct. It took 45min to receive our entrees after ordering. When we expressed our disappointment and asked for a manager, the manager simply said "Sorry... we are busy... it's a Saturday night... every resturant is like that". Even though their food is good, we along with our friends may not go back unless a huge improvement is made with the service and management.

Excellent chef prepared food, friendly service, and a refreshing bistro atmosphere. The management takes an interest in your needs and is always available to stop and chat. I recommend the Lakeside Bistro 100% above all other restaurants I've been to in Keswick.
