Corner House Bistro, The

I have lived in Keswick for many years and have enjoyed the different restaurants in town, I was excited to see this new restaurant open a few years ago.... but was disappointed to see that the menu was quite like another restaurant in the area that I had been going to for years before this one opened up. The food is overpriced for what you get. The service was pretty good, actually I think it saved our night.... I was very disappointed and will not be attending this restaurant again.

I must say, it is one of the most elegant restaurants in town. It was my first time in the restaurant. The atmosphere it very pleasant, the wait staff was very polite, and sociable. The food was amazing, I had the Garlic Shrimp, and my husband had the Greek Salad both were delicious. With appetizers that tasty I could only imagine what the entrees were going to be like. Not to long after the entrees came out, well presented. I had 8oz NY cooked medium-rare, it was full of flavour, cooked to perfection, with REAL garlic mashed potatoes and FRESH not frozen vegetables, my husband had the Surf n’ Turf, 8oz NY cooked medium-rare, and a Cuban lobster tail, looked delicious and it was. To top the night off we order a home made dessert, Carrot Cake to share & good thing we did share it was a large slice, it was light and delicious, with coffee and espresso. Our over all experience was wonderful.

I have been to the Corner House many, many times and have never been disappointed. The staff are very extremely pleasant and the atmosphere is very cozy. The reading glass' kept on the fire place for guests who forget theirs along with the home made desserts make this a MUST for anyone looking for a nice evening out. A better dining experience you will never have.

My hubby and I have been going to The Corner House since it first opened several years ago. We like to think of it as our "special place". It's a delightful restaurant with a warm ambiance and extremely friendly and courteous staff. We have loved every one of the many meals we have ordered here and always order a lovely bottle of wine to accompany our meal. We highly recommend it. The quality of the food is excellent and is always cooked to perfection and the staff always makes us feel like family. Christine's desserts are a delight. We always look foreward to our next visit. Dont miss out!

What a fantastic meal! I have been living in Keswick for 4 years and have always wanted to try this restaurant. I wish I had gone earlier. The escargot was so tasty. I cleaned my plate with the bread! The veal marsala was delectable too! The whole thing was topped off with the citrus cheesecake...yummy! I will go there again soon!

The service was excellent as we were seated promptly ans served a breadbasket and a selection of hors d'oeuvres (pickels, olives, dip). We had the saganaki which was a feast for all the senses as it was flambed at our table. Opa, indeed!! The steak wasn't anything to write home about. We ordered medium, but it turned out more medium-well. Disappointing. Overall the ambience was great as it is very romantic and our hosts were extremely gracious, courteous and friendly.

Have been here 3 times in the past 6 months and that number will increase I can promise you that. Nice place to come with family, best friend, or a date. The staff are very attentive and friendly, and the food is unbelievably good.

What a wonderful surprise we had, i never thought you could find a restaurant like this in Keswick. The food was fantastic (best Lamb i have ever had) the homemade desserts were delightful and the hostess made us feel at home. Overall a totally excellent experience this will be our new restaurant.

The meal was absolutely amazing. I went with 2 of my friends and we really enjoyed our experience. I had a seafood platter and my two friends each had steak and shrimp. Everything was to die for and the wine list was fantastic in selection and quality. I will without a doubt visit again!!!

Excellent ambiance for our 26th anniversary dinner. Delicious seafood and steaks. Specialty coffees with dessert. Wonderful hostess and wait staff. We'll be back!

Owners Christine and Bill are very hospitable. a pleasure to dine there. we've been twice this month already. cost is very reasonable - we usually have a bottle of wine, so the price increases. after working hard all week, it's a real pleasure to go to the Bistro and unwind and enjoy a great meal!

If it was'nt for the wait staff this review would be a 10 - great food - great ambience -
