East Side Mario's - Reviews (11)

Living around here, I have given this place more than one opportunity to see if their mishaps were indeed mistakes. Right away I'll say if you are interested in ESM, find another location. Don't go to this one. I ordered sizzling calamari, which comes on a skillet straight out of the oven (appetizer), and it "sizzles". When I recieved it, it was hardly warm, and I was able to touch the skillet, which ususally does not happen because it is so hot. The week before, the calamari came out so burnt they shrunk in size. Half the time the waiters here forget what you ordered, or forget to bring something you ask for. My boyfriend got the hell's kitchen chicken, and everything was uniform in colour, dark brown, and the vegetables were all burnt around the edges. Also lukewarm. How can burnt food be cold? Well they manage to do it, and very often. I won't go back to this location. I did however go to one by Sherway Gardens Mall in Mississauga, which was delicious. ESM is a great place with excellent food, but if you are going to pay for it--and it is not cheap but worth the money--choose a location that you trust, because this place messes up a lot. I'm not the only one who thinks this. Upper James? I'll try there soon..

This is the only ESM that We'll eat at, the food/service is average but at least this 1 is consistent, the rest are a joke.

Love this place...Sat outside on the patio and was served by Kat...although she was extremely busy she gave fantastic service..fast, friendly and was amazed at her ability to remember everything that we ordered. Food was terrific and the salad and bread kept coming...just how we like it!!! Definately return again!

Eastside Mario's is the place to go for some good cheap Americanized Italian food. I reccommend the spit-roasted chicken with garlic mashed potatoes. Seafood linguini is great as well, and you can build your own pasta if you're a bit picky. May I suggest: angel hair pasta, bolognese sauce and Italian sausage, wonderful!

Growing up in an Italian household I have tried just about every Italian dish from every Italian restaurant out there...until now. At East Side Mario's the pasta selection on the menu was quite impressive. The garlic bread was fresh, the pasta cooked to perfection and the service was fast. This place is perfect for Italian food...we had a great time there. I guess their slogan is true : "East Side Mario's East Side Mario's Hey Bada Boom Bada Bing"!!!

ESM is really not authentic Italian food. Its chain restaurant average and pricy for its quality. If you want good Italian food, you wont get it there. Though I will give them credit for good Ceasar salad and great service. Being an Italian and raised with that cuisine,I have to laugh.....

We were seated at bar because we wanted a booth seat, There appeared to be a few unused booths in the restaurant but it didn't seem like a big deal so we sat in the bar booth. Our watitress was the bar tender, and seemed to forgot about us. Our food was cold and very bad. The fries were uneatable. I would have told her if she was around to tell. After a long wait for our bill, another waitress gave us our bill. It was apparent that the fries were not eaten or barely touched, but no "how was it"? I didn't have the energy to complain at that time, left a 12 cent tip (not that was deserving but I didn't want to wait another 30 minutes for them to come back with my change) We used to like this restaurant, now it will be a while before we come back again... if ever... at least at the Queenston Rd location.
