Our family (includes girls 11 & 9) eats dinner out at least once a week. Thai and Chinese being our favourites. After reading the great reviews of this place, we decided to give it a try. The interior is clean, modern and warm. The menu was over kill, too large. The staff was always quick to attended to us. They even pulled another table over so our table wasn't over crowded with all the dishes we ordered. The kids and I are real tea lover. So the three of us ordered a different tea each. The waiter on his own, brought little espresso cups with the girls' teapots. I thought that was real sweet. You really should try the grapefruit tea. Loved it! I don't know how they make it, but there wasn't a bag. The girls and hubby enjoyed some spring rolls, fried won tongs and chicken on a sticks. I don't do beef, pork bottom feeding sea food, so I can't give a personal review. Next was FABULOUS curry pumpkin soup! They have a number of Pad Thai dishes. So, one extra spicy chicken and one veggie-tofu, not spicy for our very happy table. After inhaling the Garlic Beef, my 9 yo DD ask if we can order another plate so she can have some for breakfast. We were very full and satisfied when the same DD insisted she got to try the fried banana. The waiter insisted on giving extra plates for sharing. The banana ( 4 long slices) was covered in a batter, fried and drizzled with both chocolate and strawberry syrup. Oh so good!

Excellent Restaurant! Food was hot, fresh and delicious. The wait staff were attentive and pleasant. The decor is simple and elegant. The owner saw that my friend and I were having a long lunch and didn't rush us and kept refilling our coffee as needed.

Okay, so I google Thai restaurants in Burlington and find Pomelo. We head off for lunch, expecting pretty ordinary Thai cuisine. NOT AT ALL!! Though we've eaten Thai in Bangkok, this place is fantastic! Prices are reasonable, the waitress was exceptional, the menu extensive and the food plentiful and DELICIOUS!! We're taking our daughter there tomorrow :^)

My first of many visits to Pomelo. A hidden gem. The atmosphere is high end, relaxing and inviting. A wonderful selection of martinis, my favourite with Thai food. Every dish was fresh and flavourful with very distinct nuiances. The staff was welcoming and very helpful with suggestions to suit based on our personal preferences while opening our tastebuds to new and intriging dishes.

Read a lot of reviews on Restaurantica for the past couple years! This is actually the frist restaurant that I'm interested to write a review on! Heard a lot of positive feedback from friends and coworkers who have tried this restaurant! I'm a huge fan of Thai cuisine. If you love Thai food as much as i do, you should go try them out! Was there on Sat, the restaurant was packed!! The only negative is, very hard to find a parking spot! Overall, food quality and presentation are excellent! Staff is very friendly and helpful (Could hire a few more server though). Will definately go back for another visit soon! I'm glad that Burlington finally has an upscale Thai restaurant that actually do make excellent Thai cuisine!! Hope they could keep up the good work in the future!

Very rarely do I give 5 stars to any restaurant, but I make an exception for the food and atmosphere at Pomelo. We went there a week after they opened and the place looks great. They have a darker quiet atmosphere that invites intimate conversations. The owner was very friendly and inviting (as he ought to be) and it was quite nice talking to him for the short time that we did. The food is the real highlight here. Calamari was superb, perfectly cooked (which is harder to do than one would think) with a unique breading I have not had the pleasure of tasting before. We had the dumpling appetizer served in a spicy-sweet peanut sauce and loved every bite, brilliant combination of the savoury filling with the silky sweetness of the sauce. The oft-overused phrase "to die for" comes to mind here. The main course was also delightful. I went out on a limb and ordered the red snapper, not something I would normally go for. The appetizers raised my expectations and the fish certainly delivered. Again, perfectly cooked and delicious. There are many fine Thai restaurants here in Burlington, but Pomelo has now taken the lead as my favourite Asian restaurant. I expect many more great dining experiences from them in the months ahead.

Tried lunch, came back for dinner. Only open a month or so, and we visited after the normal lunch hour, so only having a couple of other patrons was probably to be expected. Simply and pleasantly decorated, they could handle a lot of people. Lunch for 2: Very cold outside and the hostess suggested Honey-Ginger tea as a beverage, very pleasant. Ordered Satay Chicken Pho, plain Chicken Pho, Spring Roll Platter for 2 and Thai Curry spring roll. Chicken Pho was a little, well, plain, but everything else was excellent. Really enjoyed it. $30 plus tip for 2. Decided to return for Dinner the next day. Dinner for 4 - again, mid week and there were only a couple of other tables taken. Had the hostess adjust the blinds a little so the lights on the building next door didn't shine in our eyes. Started with the spring roll platter and Thai Curry rolls to get the others' opinion - again excellent all round. Had the Ginger Duck, Satay Shrimp and BBQ Beef Ribs. Really pleasant taste to everything. The ribs were just a little tough, but it might be the cut - hadn't had it before, but quite tasty, nonetheless. Enough food for everyone, and skipped desert! Together with a bottle of Australian wine, about $120 for 4 plus tip. Have recommended this place to others and hope it becomes popular and stays around. Excellent.

I quite enjoyed my dinning experience here, even though it was quite short. The food was delicious, the waitress and manager were both quite helpful and eager to please, and the decor and ambiance were great. Give this place a try before it gets popular!

Excellent quality customer service and ensures needs are met. Environment is friendly and decorative with portraits that are oriental and relates to the theme. Their fried calamari, the squid was very delicious. The fried rice has an interesting aroma to it and the fish was worth trying. I don't normally eat fish, but the fish served here was an exceptional. All in all, the way they've presented their food and themselves I would say is very well done. I would go again.

Modern day furniture with dim lighting providing a warm and comforting atmosphere. Service is really good, all waiters and waitresses are polite and happy to help. Variety of food selection anywhere from Thai beginners to Thai experts. Ordered a variety of food including padthai, curry beef, mango fried rice, lemongrass fish, must say fish was a delight! Would definitely go again, there is great potenial here!

Delicious food, intimate atmosphere and efficient, friendly service. Attention to detail and good decor is very visible. Great meal experience is created with use of neutral-to-low music and dim lighting - having said that the music is audible but its not difficult to carry a quiet conversation across the table, and the lighting is just right. Food is delicious. Once again lots of attention to detail, presentation is simple yet elegant. Good balance of flavour and portion size, not overly flavourful or spicy, and portion size is perfect.

AMAZING Thai food! I used to live in Vancouver, where they have excellent Asian restaurants. Pomelo is just as good, if not better, than any of the restaurants there. The food was flavourful and plentiful. Will definitely be back for more.
