Suppose you're looking for a spot for dinner and want to be in a quintessential Vancouver location that serves great meals. You would be hard pressed to find a better choice than the Boathouse in English Bay. Although, that said I hear that they took over the old Watermark locatioon at Kits Beach so maybe this location has some competition. Not sure what the other reviewer was talking about in their review...an off night perhaps...because we were there at the tail end of summer and had a great time. We were given a seat, without reservations, on what is undoubtedly the best deck in Vancouver and were afforded expansive views of English Bay as the sun was setting and the people ambled by on the seawall below. The food was excellent and we loved sitting and chatting while never feeling rushed out of such primo seats. Their specialty is seafood although they do land based choices very well as well. Next time you're looking for a place to take out of town guests or just a place to chill and remind yourself why you live in Vancouver hit the Boathouse and you won't be disappointed!

Service was so slow that we had to ask for our food twice. Service was selective & people who came later were served first. Quality of fish & chips was so bad that I thought I was in some greasy spoon location.

The Boathouse specializes in fresh seafood from the west coast of BC. With each dish full of fresh flavors and the finest ingredients, this restaurant is a must for all seafood lovers. Not only is there exceptional food, but the view is phenomenal as well. Enjoy your scrumptious meal while looking out onto the waters of the English Bay at this Beach Avenue location in Vancouver. If you are lucky, you can even dine atop the restaurant deck to enjoy the sunshine and feel the ocean breeze pass by. Go quickly as this place is often a packed with others also wanting a taste of the action.

I really like this Boathouse restaurant as well (we go to the one in Horseshoe Bay a lot). Great location near the beach and the usual high quality menu. Very West Coast healthy and sophisticated. Olivier
