Dr Wendy Smeltzer

After 18 years as a full-time family physician, Dr. Wendy Smeltzer opened Sante Spa in Calgary in 1997, which was the first registered medical spa in Canada. Dr. Smeltzer has over 11 years of experience in cosmetic medicine, pioneering medical aesthetic techniques and working diligently to establish national standards of hygiene and safety across the Canadian spa industry. Dr. Wendy Smeltzer was co-chair of the 2009 World Congress of Aesthetic Medicine and is an executive board member of the Canadian Association of Aesthetic Medicine; she furthered chaired the Leading Spas of Canada Standards and Practices Committee for 10 years. Dr. Wendy Smeltzer's passion has lead her to work with Medique Skincare, where she is Medical Director and is active in researching and developing medical skin care products and bringing them to market. Dr. Smeltzer lectures and speaks internationally on cosmetic medicine, skincare and standards for the spa industry.
